Yes, It's The Last One

Image
The Last One This is kind of sad, having to wrap this up. I have so enjoyed the creation and completion of this blog. I want to thank all of you for reading, interacting, and supporting my content! My following is so important to me and I am thankful for each and every one of you. I have learned so many things along the way. The biggest bit of information I picked up was how to construct an efficient personal branding strategy. Creating a business is more than just picking out a name and an area of expertise; a personal brand is something that relates to who you are and what kind of business you are planning to build. Throughout this course, I have been able to piece together my own personal brand through this blog and other social sites. My personal brand revolves around thrifting, and what it means to be authentic and genuine in the fashion industry. I hope that my followers have been able to see this brand come to life, because I know I have. After this class concludes, I hope to k

Yes, You Heard That Right

Podcasts   Did I hear that right? Is Kate doing a podcast?  The answer is YES, she is! Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, whether you listen online or through an app on your phone/laptop. The beauty of podcasting is users only need to lend their ears, not their eyes. This makes it great for listening on a run, in the car, or during some working hours.  Yes, She Thrifts is making a podcast as well. I hope that you all find it as interesting and entertaining as I do! I will talk about thrifting, shopping tops, and my overall personal brand. This is going to an exciting new adventure. Feel free to listen to the sample podcast I will include in this blog post, and stay tuned next week when the full episode releases.  Until next time, ❤ Kate PODCAST - CLICK HERE!

Professional Social Media (Yes, it's necessary)

Professional Social Media The fun side of social media is just that: fun! However, social platforms are becoming a hub for new and upcoming careers in various different industries. Because of this slight culture change, it is important to be well adversed in the area of professional social media (especially if you're thinking of branding yourself this way!) There are multiple professional social media sites. The most common and easily accessed one is LinkedIn. I am sure most of us have at least heard of this site. It is a place where professionals and amateurs alike can create an online profile in order to market themselves or a company. Profiles are easily searched and accessed from anyone on the site; this increases the chances of exposure and prospective connections. LinkedIn has experienced much success because users are able to brand themselves from the comfort of their own screen. Who  wouldn't want to search for jobs on a professional site while simultaneously being in

Yes, I DO Have a Favorite Vlogger

Image
Let's Get Into Vlogs Growing up in an increasingly digital age, I have been exposed to video blogs for quite a few years. Honestly, I remember when "vlogging" wasn't even a key term yet. That makes me sound old (I promise, I'm still hip).  With age came the need to procrastinate more often; my favorite way to do this became watching Youtube videos. My favorite vlogs were the "Thrift With Me" editions, where content creators took their fans along with them while they hunted for second-hand treasures. I was able to vicariously shop with people I had never met, and I loved it. Seeing other people find new-to-you items was so fun to experience. Luckily for me, all of that internet procrastinating paid off.    There was only one YouTube vlogger that I watched on a regular basis. I actually waited for her videos to be released each week. Although this particular young woman has changed her content from when I watched her originally, she still continues to insp

Yes, There Are More Thrifters

Let's Make Some Friends There are so many ways to construct a personal brand, I had no idea! Luckily, my newfound friends helped me out a bit. I scoured the internet community for some thrifting blogs that would allow me to construct a brand that is personal and unique to me. Drawing inspiration from others can be an incredibly beneficial practice. Networking is also equally beneficial for both parties involved: my newfound blogger friends receive well-deserved recognition and exposure, and I intake inspiration and perspective.  Since it seems hardly fair to keep these blogs to myself, I'm going to go ahead and share them with you guys. Each blog listed bellow is special in their own way, and I will let you know how I have benefitted from each one. Feel free to click on the title to enjoy the blog for yourself. Buckle your seatbelts, because it is about to be a thrifting overload. Here we go! 1.   THE OUTFIT REPEATER We have to first address the color scheme of the blog: it'

Yes, It's Me!

Nice to meet you, I'm Kate.   Yes, it's me! Let's start this thrifting journey together. If you're looking for thrifting tips, good finds, and ways to save money, then you have come to the right place. Before we get to the good stuff, we should chat a bit. Since we're going to be good friends, let me share a little about myself and my journey thus far.  My name is Kathryn Pani, but you can call me Kate. I'm a Junior at Columbia College where I'm pursuing a degree in Marketing. My passions include volleyball (which I am currently playing at CC), horse riding, ice cream, Jesus, and thrifting. Those have to be my favorite things in this world. Not only that, but I have always loved a good deal. I have been frequenting Goodwill since I was a little girl. My grandma/best friend and I would go to nearby thrifts to play dress up, rightfully so. When I started getting older, this turned into treasure hunting. I would be digging for hours to find a good name brand, o
